News release from the Embassy Theatre:

Crowdfunding project at halfway point for Summer Nights at the Embassy

The Embassy has reached the halfway point for Arts United’s new crowdfunding project, Amplify Art! The Embassy hopes to raise a total of $4,800 to help pay for local performers on its new rooftop patio series in 2016, Summer Nights at the Embassy. With a little less than two weeks left, the Embassy has raised $2,400.

Summer Nights at the Embassy will take place Wednesday nights beginning May 25, 2016, 5 to 9 p.m., on the new rooftop patio at the Embassy. The Embassy would like to offer a different local arts performance for each of the evening events. When people donate online via Amplify Art!, they also can note who they would like to see perform atop the Embassy, whether it be musicians, dancers or buskers.

Amplify Art! is a social crowdfunding platform started by Arts United to turn up the volume on local art and culture projects in northeast Indiana. Donors can support the Embassy project by going online at https://www.artsunited.org/amplify/.

“We want our new spaces to be a vibrant part of downtown Fort Wayne. We really hope we get the funds to offer a great event every Wednesday next summer,” said Kelly Updike, Embassy executive director

Summer Nights at the Embassy will be open to people of all ages. Food and beverages will be available. A modest cover charge ($3 to $5) will allow patrons access to the performances while supporting event costs.

In addition to giving feedback on artist preferences, all Amplify Art! donors will receive a full schedule of the Wednesday evening events once details are finalized.
