Public’s assistance requested to identify Theft Suspects

(October 20, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the theft suspect captured in the attached surveillance photograph. This suspect and an accomplice are responsible for the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of clothing items from Macy’s Department Store in Glenbrook Mall over the last several months.

 

 

Anyone with information that can lead to his identification is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).

ON 9/20/2015 I WAS DISPATCHED TO 4201 COLDWATER RD REFERENCE TO A PREVIOUS THEFT REPORT. UPON ARRIVING I MADE CONTACT WITH THE COMPLAINANT, LOSS PREVENTION ASSOCIATE #########.

######## ADVISED MALE/MIXED, WEARING A GRAY HOODIE, GLASSES, BASEBALL HAT AND BREAD CAME INTO THE LOWER LEVEL THROUGH THE ENTRANCE CLOSEST TO COLDWATER RD. ######## ADVISED THEY HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SUSPECT FOR A FEW WEEKS NOT BECAUSE HAD COME IN BEFORE AND STOLEN MERCHANDISE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS STEALING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF CLOTHING. ######## ADVISED TODAY THE SUSPECT CAME AND STOLE ABOUT 13 CLOTHING ITEMS AND RAN OUT THE EAST DOORS TO BLACK COLORED 4DR PONTIAC GRAND AM OR GRAND PRIX. ####### STATED THIS WAS THE SAME VEHICLE HE WAS DRIVING WHEN HE CAME IN ON 9/6/2015, CONTROL NUMBER 15F118370, BUT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY PLATES. ####### ADVISED THEY ATTEMPTED TO APPREHEND THE SUSPECT BUT ONCE THE SUSPECT GOT INTO HIS VEHICLE. ####### STATED THE SUSPECT DROVE OFF AND TRIED TO HIT HIM BEFORE HE LEFT THE PARKING LOT. ####### ADVISED THE SUSPECT STOLE SEVERAL HOODIES AND POLO SHIRTS WORTH AT LEAST $1000.00.

######## DID SAY THE SUSPECT DROP THREE ITEMS SO THEY WERE ABLE TO RECOVER THOSE.

######## TOLD ME HE WOULD LIKE TO GET A DETECTIVE ON THIS CASE AND TRY AND GET THIS PICTURE ON CRIME STOPPERS SINCE THIS SUSPECT HAS STOLEN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF MERCHANDISE. ###### ADVISED HE CONTACTED THE PROSECUTORS OFFICE AND SPOKE WITH CAPTAIN BANDOR ABOUT GETTING A DETECTIVE ASSIGNED TO THIS BUT HAS NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK. ###### PROVIDED ME WITH A STILL PICTURE OF THE SUSPECT AND VIDEO OF TODAYS THEFT. I GAVE THE CONTROL NUMBER TO ###### AND ADVISED HIM I WOULD FORWARD THIS REPORT TO THE DETECTIVE BUREAU FOR FOLLOW-UP. I CLEARED THE SCENE AND PLACED THE PICTURE AND VIDEO INTO CONTINUITY.

Describe what happened:

ON SEPTEMBER 6TH 2015, I OFFICER BARNHORST, A. RESPONDED TO 4201 COLDWATER ROAD AT GLENBROOK MALL IN REGARDS TO A THEFT THAT JUST OCCURRED AT MACYS.

UPON ARRIVAL I MET WITH LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER #########. ##### ADVISED THAT A MALE WHITE MEDIUM BUILD LATE 20’S TO EARLY 30’S ENTERED THE STORE ON THE NORTH SIDE DOORS AT 1515 HOURS AND GRABBED OVER $1000 WORTH OF CLOTHES AND EXITED THE STORE ALL WITHIN ABOUT 45 SECONDS. HE ADVISED THAT THE MALE LEFT EASTBOUND ON COLISEUM IN A BLACK GRAND PRIX WITH A SUN ROOF ######### ############.

HE ADVISED THAT THE SAME SUSPECT STOLE OVER $1000 WORTH OF CLOTHES LESS THAN A WEEK AGO AS WELL.

HE PROVIDED ME WITH 2 VIDEO RECORDINGS OF THE SUSPECT, THE THEFT AND THE CAR HE WAS DRIVING; I LATER PLACED THEM INTO CONTINUITY.

I PROVIDED ###### WITH THE CONTROL NUMBER FOR THIS REPORT AND CLEARED THE SCENE.

On 03/09/2015 at 1908hrs I responded to 4201 Coldwater Rd;Macy’s reference a report of a theft. Upon arrival I met with the complainant, ###### , who was a loss prevention representative. ##### stated that at 1843hrs a red, smaller, regular cab pickup truck (possibly an older Dodge Dakota) parked along the curb in front of one of the doors and the driver went into the store, leaving the truck running. The driver was in the store for less than thirty seconds and he exited with 18 polo shirts he had taken off a rack near the door.

The driver got back into the truck and fled the scene with the merchandise (valued at $1611.00). The suspect was described as being a 20yo mixed male wearing a grey hoodie (with collegiate lettering on the front)with the hood up, khaki pants and boots. ####### requested a report in case the suspect was apprehended in the future. I provided ###### with the control number and cleared the scene on report.

Loss prevention employee ######## called to report a theft from Macy’s at 4201 Coldwater Rd. I arrived and ######## explained he had been talking with Det C Wiley about this issue with a particular suspect. ###### showed me footage of a man walking out of the store with what we guesses as 8-10 shirts. They were Polo and Lacoste brand shirts. Each are valued around $90.00 – $100.00.

The man is seen on video entering the store at 2:29 pm and leaving at 2:31 pm with the shirts. He appeared to be a man in his 20’s, either white or Hispanic, average build, with tattoos on the right forearm and tattoos on the left wrist and left elbow but a gap between the two. The video outside showed the vehicle he left in. It had a plate of ##############. That ############ ##########################.

I gave ########## the control number for the report and stated it would be on file with the information he had shown me. ######### stated he would keep the video until he spoke to Det Wiley. I left the store at that time. Report made.

On Thursday February 12, 2015 at approximately 1934 hrs I Officer Landwehr 1882F responded to 4201 Coldwater Road, Glenbrook Mall, Macys for a theft that had just occurred. Upon my arrival I spoke with loss prevention agent, ############. ############### stated that a male mixed wearing a black beany, gray sweatshirt, black sweat pants and white/black shoes came into the store and stole 5-7 Polo Shirts. ########## stated that there was a second male white wearing a green hoody, black jeans and brown boots that was a “lookout for him.” ######### stated that the two males got into a four door sedan ###### ########. The vehicle does match the vehicle that is on their surveillance video. ########## stated that the male suspect appears to be the same male suspect that stole polo shirts on 01/28/20015 (15F011187).

I ############# ##############. ########## ############# ################. ######### stated ############# ############ ########. Officers ######### ########################### ################.

I cleared the scene without incident and returned to service.

Incident number:15F032725

SUSPECT: M/B/20-25, 5’5-5’7″, stocky, light skin

VEHICLE: Grey or silver 2 door with sunroof

I responded to a previous theft at 4201 Coldwater Rd-MACYS.

######### is loss prevention at MACYS. He stated that on 3-18-15 at approx 2053, the above male suspect was dropped off in the fire lane at the east Coldwater Rd entrance. He then entered the store and went to a rack of POLO shirts, and took 11 items, each valued at $89.50 for a total loss of $984.00.
The male then ran out of the store and got in the passenger side of the vehicle, which took off at a high rate of speed.

######## stated the same male was in the store on 3-9-15 and stole the same type of shirts. He stated there was a police report filed on that matter as well.

####### stated they would recognize the suspect if seen again, and they wise to press charges.

########## played video of the incident showing the above male taking shirts from a rack and running out the east doors without paying for them. He got into the above vehicle, which left the scene at a high rate of speed. Plate information could not be seen on the video.

######## stated he has the video archived, and can make a DVD of the incident when needed.

######### stated he ################################# was ################################## from the store. He stated DET WILEY was involved in that case, and he may be able to identify the suspect in this incident.

I supplied ######## the control number for the incident, and advised him to call police if the male returned. He was also referred to the detective bureau for follow up.

I then cleared to file my report.
