USF football lines up new opponent for final home game

(October 16, 2015) – The University of Saint Francis football team has made a change in its schedule and will play College of Faith in its final regular-season home game on Sat., Nov. 7.

College of Faith is located in West Memphis, Ark. And has played Valparaiso University and McKendree University, both NCAA institutions. College of Faith replaces Redemption Academy, located in Newport News, Va., which has not put together a football program as indicated when USF agreed to play the school.

“When the reports surfaced (with questions) about the Redemption program, we started looking at our schedule because we wanted to find a more legitimate opponent,” USF athletic director Mike McCaffrey said. “(College of Faith) was on the Redemption schedule and we assumed they had some of the same reservations we had.”
