Cougars continue their climb in NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 poll

(October 12, 2015) – USF rose two more spots rising to No. 7 the fifth regular season NAIA Coaches’ Top 25. It is USF’s second Top 10 position in a row after a 49-25 win over Siena Heights at USF on Sat., Oct. 10. This is USF’s highest ranking since it was No. 6 in the 2014 Preseason Top 25 and the highest regular-season ranking since the Cougars were sixth in the Nov. 17, 2013 poll.

The Cougars were ranked 26th in the NAIA Preseason Ratings.

This USF’s 191st Top 25 appearance and its 158th Top 25 Top 10 appearance in 18 seasons.

USF moved back into the Top 25 on Sept. 12, 2015, for the first time since it was No. 24 in the Oct. 6, 2014 poll (5th Regular Season). This is 190th ranking in the last 199 polls. Including received votes the Cougars have been ranked in 192 polls. USF was in the Top 25 in 186 consecutive polls starting on Oct. 26, 1999 at No. 25.

The Cougars remain home this Sat., Oct. 17, to tangle with Concordia University (MI), which received four ratings points (tied for 28th) after stunning then No. 5 St. Xavier University (IL) 35-14 on Sat., Oct. 10. CU is 4-2, 1-0 in MSFA MEL action. USF is 6-0, 4-0 in the MSFA MEL.
