Two vehicle I-69 two vehicle crash leaves two dead, one critical, one serious

(September 30, 2015) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred at the southbound 294.6 Mile Marker of I-69. At approximately 4:07 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 officers began responding to the area. According to witnesses, a Town & Country mini-van was northbound on I-69 when it left the roadway and drove across the grassy median striking a southbound Jeep Cherokee head on. Both male drivers died at the scene. A female passenger of one of the vehicles was flown to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition and a female passenger of the second vehicle was also transported to Lutheran Hospital by ambulance. It is unknown at this time why the northbound vehicle drove into the southbound lane. There were only the four victims and the crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
