News release from the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership:

#NEIpride photo exhibition shows regional pride

(September 26, 2015) – The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, through its Millennial 2020 initiative, and Wunderkammer Company are collaborating on an upcoming art exhibit featuring photos from the Instagram photo contest held in April.

The gallery opens at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Wunderkammer Company, 3402 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, Ind. In addition to the #NEIpride exhibition, there will be three other openings including “Fortlandia,” featuring hipster culture; “Place & Time” by Cathy Blyth; and “Film Fatale,” which highlights photography by Fort Wayne women. There will also be snacks and a cash bar served until 9 p.m.

Northeast Indiana Millennials (roughly ages 17-29) submitted 121 photos on Instagram demonstrating why they are proud to call Northeast Indiana their home.

“Collaborating with Wunderkammer Company provides a unique opportunity to showcase the photography of Millennials. The exhibit not only shows the authentic spirit of Northeast Indiana, but it provides an outlet for young talent to showcase their creativity and regional pride,” said Sonya Snellenberger, Millennial 2020 Specialist at the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.

The exhibition features photos from eight of the 10 counties in Northeast Indiana, and highlights the creative quality of life assets found in the region.

The first place photo, by Allyson Lepley of LaGrange County, will be featured in the exhibit. The romantic Midwestern setting features Lepley in her wedding dress sitting next to her husband on a red, vintage Ford truck.
“I submitted a photo from our wedding when we snuck off from the 600 guests at the ceremony to have a moment together. The pickup truck was my grandpa’s and my wedding dress was my late grandmother Susan’s, who I unfortunately never met,” said Lepley.
