News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
Building Fire, 2nd floor of 1117 Broadway
(September 19, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was sent to the Brass Rail Tavern on Broadway on a reported structure fire. When crews arrived the fire was found on the outside of the apartment above the Brass Rail Tavern at 1117 Broadway Apartment ½ Floor2. Crews attacked the fire from the rear using ladders to gain access to a patio on the second floor of the building. All the apartments on the second floor were searched and no one was found to be home. Salvage operations were conducted in the Antique store and the Brass Rail below the fire apartment.
No one was injured at this structure fire. The Brass Rail Tavern was not involved in the fire.
The Fire Department was assissted by TRAA, Fort Wayne Police Department AEP, NIPSCO and Neighborhood Code.
