WHAT: Auburn Fall – a Labor Day tradition
A highlight on the national collector car calendar, as well as the local community calendar, Auctions America’s flagship Auburn Fall weekend is one of the country’s premier celebrations of the hobby, each year bringing thousands to the Classic Car Capital of America. The 2014 event drew in a record 81,500 enthusiasts, with total sales exceeding $25.9 million. This year’s event is shaping up as another fantastic hobby weekend, with approximately 1,000 classics, muscle cars, hot rods, exotics and select memorabilia set to cross the auction block. As the longest running event in collector car auction history, the event celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2015 – an occasion marked with its most diverse offering to date.

Shining a spotlight on more than 100 years of automotive history, Auctions America’s Auburn Fall sale provides the opportunity to bring your audience some of the most desirable automobiles available today, as well as a host of other automotive-themed activities for the whole family.
- AUCTION HIGHLIGHTS: For collectors and enthusiasts alike, the auction is always a highlight, with approximately 1,000 collector cars up for bids. Highlighting the sale is one of the largest offerings of ACD vehicles presented to date, including a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Murphy Convertible Coupe, – the most valuable car on offer at this year’s event, estimated to bring more than $1,500,000. Additional standout lots include an authentic 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Certified Jeff Gordon NASCAR Racecar, raced by Jeff Gordon during 2002 through 2004 in the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona, and the first #24 racecar offered by Hendrick since Gordon announced retirement (Est. $150,000 – $200,000), and a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, one of the most powerful muscle cars ever produced and showing just two miles on its odometer (Est. $80,000 – $95,000; Offered without reserve).
- CHARITY CAR: Auctions America is committed to giving back to the local community in which it operates. As a special highlight of this year’s event, the company will offer a 1994 Chevrolet Impala SS during the event’s Sunday sale session, with 100 percent of proceeds from its sale, including the buyer’s donation, benefiting the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn – a cornerstone of the local automotive scene. Presented in black with gray interior, the Impala is equipped with a host of modern conveniences, and will be offered without reserve, selling to the highest bidder (Estimate: $25,000 – $30,000).
- FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY: Beyond the auction and other traditional fixtures, including the car corral and swap meet, this year’s Auburn Fall program features a number of additional automotive-themed activities for enthusiasts of all ages. Special attractions include:
- Professional Freestyle Sportbike shows featuring riders Kyle Sliger and Jesse Toler;
- Roush Fenway Racing’s interactive ‘Ultimate Race Fan Experience’, a mobile display hauler showcasing various elements of a race team, will be on-site along with their NASCAR racing simulators and ‘Tire Changing Units’ – where fans test their speed as a tire changer;
- Hendrick Motorsports presents the opportunity to get up close and personal to several NASCAR race cars driven by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmie Johnson, and Jeff Gordon’s famous number 24 before it crosses the block; and Monster truck shows and rides, as well as onsite helicopter rides providing a bird’s eye view of the 235-acre Auburn Auction Park.
- CELEBRITY SPOTTING: Ryan Hurst, better known as ‘Opie’ from Sons of Anarchy, will visit the Auburn Auction Park for autograph sessions on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6 from 11am – 1pm and 3pm -5pm daily.
- LIFE-SIZE MECHANICAL ELEPHANT: As in past years, Auburn Fall will see the return of Wendell, Auctions America’s very own life-size mechanical elephant – who weighs in at a massive 1400 pounds and measures 12 feet long and 8 feet 6 inches high. Moving like the real thing, Wendell is powered by its original Ford four-cylinder water-cooled engine, with each leg moving independently, controlled by the driver perched on its neck.
