Report of gunshots, 3500 block of Gaywood Drive
(August 27, 2015) – Fort Wayne police responded to the 3500 block of Gaywood Drive just before 4:00 p.m. this afternoon on the report of gunshots being heard. Uniformed officers responded and during their canvassing of the area they learned that the gun fire might have originated from inside a home in the 3500 block.
Utilizing their public address system several attempts were made to establish communications with anyone inside the home. Receiving no response a decision was made to call out our Emergency Services Team and our Crisis Response Team. Once those assets were in place EST officers entered the home clearing it without finding anyone inside. By 5:25 p.m. the area was back open to normal traffic flow and officers cleared the scene returning back to service.
