News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

“Tearing Down Walls and Building Bridges” block party rescheduled

(July 16, 2015) – The block party hosted by Abundant Life Church and the City of Fort Wayne’s Cities United initiative has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 8 at the Renaissance Pointe YMCA, 2323 Bowser Avenue, 11a.m. – 3 p.m. The block party was originally set to go forward on June 27 but had to be cancelled due to severe weather.

The event, “Tearing Down Walls and Building Bridges,” is expected to bring approximately 1,000 people together for free food, back-to-school supplies, music, games for kids and information about employment opportunities and healthy living. The event will also include information about the City’s participation in Cities United, a national partnership to eliminate violence-related deaths of African American males.

Sponsors include: Parkview Health, Lutheran Health Network, Kroger, 96.3XKE, B96.9, Biggs Property Management, Ideal Builders, Fort Wayne Urban League, Millennia Housing Development, Walmart and Wallen Baptist Church.
