A Better Fort Presents: A BLOCK 4 BLINDNESS
A Downtown Block Party & Cocktail Event to Raise Awareness for Blindness & Eye Disease
On July 10, 2014, from 6pm to 12am in the 800 Block of South Calhoun (SoCal)
(July 6, 2015) — With the Better Fort bred BAALS Music Festival outgrowing the 800 Block of South Calhoun and moving to Headwater’s Park the downtown advocacy group has come up with a new set of programming for this year’s “block event”. On July 10, A Better Fort will host A BLOCK 4 BLINDNESS | A Block Party and Blindness Awareness Event. In similar fashion to the group’s previous downtown summer events the awareness event will occur on the closed 800 block of Calhoun Street. The initiative is to draw engaging attention to the “Cause” curing,
preventing and treating eye disease & blindness? of which 1 00% o f the net proceeds will be donated to the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center which has a long and rich history of leadership in the field of medical genetics and inherited retinal dystrophies. The event is 21 & over with a limited capacity of 2,500 tickets available. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online or at the door. Entertainment will include games, premium drink specials, food and music provided by local
DJs located on a uniquely constructed 20ft floating stage. The type of music being played will include various
