News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

Road Update, Sand available for residents to use on personal property

(June 16, 2015) – The City’s Division of Public Works has placed sand and empty bags at two locations for residents to access. Residents must bring their own shovel to fill the bags that they will take to their home. The sand should be in place by 11:00 a.m. this morning.

Sand Locations:

Southwest Conservation Club – parking lot
5703 Bluffton Road

Portage Middle School – parking lot
3521 Taylor Street

The following streets are closed because of high water:

  • 8500 block of Hanauer Road
  • Intersection of Thieme Drive, Nelson and Berry Streets
  • Winchester Road between Shamrock and Airport Expressway
