News release from the TinCaps:

Rain postpones first game of Fort Wayne-Clinton series

For the second time this season, a TinCaps game at Parkview Field has been postponed. Rain prohibited Fort Wayne and the Clinton LumberKings from taking the field on Saturday night. The TinCaps and Whitecaps are now set to play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 2:05 p.m.

Fans who had tickets to Saturday’s game can redeem them at the Parkview Field Ticket Office for any future regular season game in 2015. For those with tickets to Sunday’s originally scheduled game, the tickets are now good for both games of the doubleheader. The TinCaps and LumberKings will play two seven-inning games with a 30-minute break in between. Parkview Field’s gates will open at 1:05 pm. on Sunday.

Rain came down in Fort Wayne most of the late afternoon on Saturday. While it let up for a bit after the originally scheduled start time, too much rain was in the area later in the evening to start. The scheduled 7:05 pm. first pitch never happened and the game was officially called at 9:03 p.m.

The TinCaps will be playing their fourth doubleheader of the season. Twice they have swept doubleheaders this year, once against Great Lakes on May 26th and again hosting the West Michigan Whitecaps on May 31st.

Saturday was Saturday Night Live Night at Parkview Field, with players wearing specialized jerseys. The theme night will be postponed to a later date in the season. That date has yet to be determined.

Sunday’s games can be seen on Comcast Network 81 (coverage starts at 2:00 p.m.) and heard on ESPN Radio 1380, Box Score, and the TuneIn Radio app (coverage starts at 1:45 p.m.).

Despite the rainout, Fort Wayne looks to win its fourth series in a row at home. The club took two of three from the Kane County Cougars during the week.
