Arnie Ball Presented with Sagamore of the Wabash Honor

(June 12, 2015) — At the annual IPFW men’s volleyball golf outing, long-time men’s volleyball head coach Arnie Ball was presented with the Sagamore of the Wabash Award by state Representative and Indiana Legislator of the Year Bob Morris.

The Sagamore is an honorary award from the state of Indiana recognizing those who greatly contribute to “Hoosier” heritage. The list of Sagamore honores includes astronauts, presidents, ambassadors, artists, musicians, politicians, and many others.

Ball, who coached his final season with the men’s volleyball program in 2015, ended his career with the fifth-most wins in NCAA men’s volleyball history. He led his teams to six NCAA Final Fours and a Championship Game appearance.

He was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Hall of Fame in 2012 and was the 2007 AVCA Coach of the Year. The university named the Gates Athletic Center main court in Ball’s honor earlier this year.
