Spend your weekend with the History Center

(June 1, 2015) – This weekend the History Center invites you to learn twice as much about your history at two Fort Wayne landmarks.

Discover the importance of dance to Miami Indian culture Saturday, June 6. Demonstrations will be given by Kayla Godfrey from 1-4pm at the Chief Richardville House. Tours of this National Historic Landmark will be given on the hour throughout the afternoon.

Admission for this event is $7 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. History Center members and children ages 2 and under are free. The Chief Richardville House is located at 5705 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809.

Come to the History Center to hear the George R. Mather Lecture The Incredible Life of Fort Wayne’s Minette Baum presented by Harriet Miller Sunday, June 7 at 2pm.

Minnette Baum was a revolutionary force in changing the way society cares for its underserved populations. As the first social worker in Fort Wayne and a strong community organizer, her accomplishments are still having an impact on our lives today.

The George R. Mather Lectures are free and open to the public. The History Center is located at 302 East Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
