Nichols honored with Barnabas Award for her servant heart
(May 20, 2015) – Concordia Lutheran High School senior Maddie Nichols was honored today with the Barnabas Award. Established 29 years ago by the Class of 1986, the award recognizes a senior who exemplifies encouragement and servanthood.
Barnabas was a missionary and co-worker of St. Paul. His name means “encourager.” His ministry in life was to be of service to his fellow man.
“Maddie uses her talents and abilities to help people rather than to hinder or hurt them,” the nominations read. “Maddie is well respected by her peers, teachers and teammates.”
Fourteen students in all were nominated for this award by the student body and faculty and staff. A committee of four faculty members and four seniors made the final selection.
