Death Investigation

Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Time: 11:05 a.m.

Location: 1600 Block Fairfield Avenue (East Side), Along Norfolk Southern Tracks

Victim: Adult Male White

Details:

Fort Wayne police were called to the area of Hendricks and Fairfield when employees of the Norfolk Southern observed a body lying alongside of their tracks. Officers arrived and found the body of an adult male white along two sets of tracks east of the 1600 block of Fairfield Avenue. Fire personnel determined the male to be dead at the scene.

Train traffic was suspended during the investigation however once completed service was allowed to resume. An autopsy will be performed Thursday to determine a cause and manner of death.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s office, the Allen County Prosecutor’s office and Norfolk Southern Police.
