USF Appoints Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

(March 4, 2015) — The University of Saint Francis has appointed Joseph M. Friona as the new Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. Friona has over 20 years of professional and academic experience, having served most recently as the Director of Assessment Teaching and Learning at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Friona has a Master of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Friona will oversee the USF Virtual Campus, Graduate School and Crown Point site. Dr. Andrew Prall, Vice President for Academic Affairs, said, “Joe Friona will help facilitate the continued growth of our programs aimed at adult students. His experience with leading programs for online and returning adult students will provide additional focus to the university’s expanding list of programs. Graduate, online and Crown Point students represent 29 percent of the university’s total enrollment and the national trend in these areas of higher education shows continued growth. Joe’s experience will enhance the outstanding quality and value of our online and site-based programs for adult students who wish to complete or continue their education at the University of Saint Francis.”
