Narrative from the FWPD officer who responded:
I was dispatched to Phil’s Hobby Shop at 3938 W Jefferson Blvd, in reference to a theft. Upon my arrival, I spoke with the victim.
####### stated that he was the manager of the Phil’s Hobby Shop and that he had left the store on 1/15/2015 at approximately 1700 hours. ###### stated that when he returned to work on 1/16/15, he noticed that his personal radio transmitter for radio controlled aircraft was missing from a shelf behind a counter in the rear of the store. ####### said that he had the transmitter at the store to use and work on things in the store, and that the value of the transmitter was $1200.00.
###### said that after looking around and asking around, an employee said that the night before they had sold a charger for the same model transmitter that ####### was missing. ##### said that he then checked the video, as his transmitter was very specific and not common for people to own. ####### found on the in store video that around 1753 hours a W/M, approximately 30-35 years old, with a bald head, very stylized beard, and a tattoo sleeve on his left arm entered the store with an older white male and white female.
##### showed me the video, which showed the subject described walking behind the counter where ####### had his transmitter and walking around the store with it. The video showed the subject buying a charger for the transmitter, putting the transmitter in a bag with the charger, and leaving with it.
I told ######## to burn a copy of the video to a disk and to call 911 if the subject returned to the store so that we can get him identified. I also told ##### to follow up with victim assistance so that he can start the process of getting the case to a detective to have charges filed. I gave him a copy of the report number, and I cleared the run with a report.
