USF named a Champion of Character
NAIA selects the University of Saint Francis as a Five-Star Champion of Character Institution

(January 27, 2015) — The NAIA has named the University of Saint Francis as a Five-Star NAIA Champions of Character Institution. This award is based on the NAIA Champions of Character core values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership. Out of 260 NAIA colleges and universities, USF tied for the sixth highest score and is one of only twelve institutions to attain a “Gold” status.

From the NAIA website: “Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earned points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.”

“Being recognized as one of only twelve schools in the entire NAIA to receive GOLD STAR status by the Champions of Character program is a testament to our coaches and student-athletes,” said USF Athletic Director Mike McCaffrey.
