Winter Storm Linus Drops Snow, And The Possibility Of $2.5 Million In Full Refunds On All Purchases, To Nearly 3,000 Art Van Furniture Shoppers In Chicago, Fort Wayne And Toledo!
Retailer’s “Let It Snow” promotion in January promised free furniture and mattresses to participating guests if at least three inches of snow fell on February 1

WARREN, Mich. (February 1, 2015) – As Winter Storm Linus sweeps across the Midwest, a blizzard of savings totaling $2.5 million may also be snowing down on almost 3,000 Art Van Furniture shoppers in Chicagoland, Fort Wayne and Toledo!

As part of the Midwest’s No. 1 furniture and mattress retailer’s game-changing “Let It Snow” promotion, participating guests at its six Chicagoland stores on January 1, 2, 3 and 17, as well guests at its Fort Wayne and Toledo locations on January 17, won’t be paying a penny for their purchases if it snows three inches or more in their respective markets on Super Football Sunday today, February 1. With temperatures continuing to fall, and snow accumulation building by the hour, it’s looking very promising that millions of dollars in refunds are in the forecast for thousands of people.

“Our goal was to usher in winter with fanfare, fun and lots of free furniture,” said Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture. “They say good things come in threes, and three inches of snow, combined with millions of dollars in savings, is most definitely a good thing for our Chicago, Fort Wayne and Toledo guests. I know there is a big game on today, but I suspect that Art Van Furniture fans are cheering louder for snowfall instead of football.”

That’s definitely true for Art Van Furniture guest Alex Reyes, who tweeted “@artvan @J_M_19 Have to admit that this is more exciting than waiting for the Superbowl! #LetItSnow #SomebodyPassMeARuler”.

If the Chicago O’Hare Airport Weather Station, the Fort Wayne International Airport Weather Station and the Toledo Express Weather Station measure snowfall of three inches or more between 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on February 1, Art Van Furniture will refund 100% of all purchases of furniture, mattresses, big screen TVs and flooring (including sales tax and delivery fees) by participants in their applicable markets. Official certification from Lloyd’s of London, the world’s specialist insurance market, must first be obtained, and is expected on Monday, February 2. Guests will then be notified on Tuesday, and special refund parties will be planned.

No minimum purchase was required in Art Van Furniture’s “Let It Snow” promotion. For more information, visit artvan.com.
