News release from the University of Saint Francis:
USF brings artist Charles Kanwischer to Fort Wayne
Kanwischer speaking as part of USF’s Closer Look Lecture Series on February 3.(January 9, 2015) — Visiting Artist Charles Kanwischer will present a lecture on his work as a graphite artist in the University of Saint Francis North Campus Auditorium, 2702 Spring Street, on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m.
As an artist who focuses on realism, Kanwischer states: “When I look at the world I see forms and histories in flux. I’m attracted to sites that are visibly and obviously changing from one condition to another. The processes may be natural, as with tidal flats and flooding rivers, or they may be human-directed activities such as farming, building and demolition—all present evidence of an “ongoingness” that I believe constitutes the deeper subject of my work.”
This USF lecture is free to the public and more information is available at https://www.sf.edu/academics/creative-arts/.
Accredited by the prestigious National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the USF School of Creative Arts is dedicated to helping students express their talents and achieve their career goals in the visual arts, communication, dance, music, music technology and theatre.
