Mad Ants Add to Win Streak

WHITE PLAINS, NY (January 9, 2015) – The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, took their winning streak on the road to grab a win in a thrilling fourth quarter show down over the Westchester Knicks 96-94 Friday night at the Westchester County Center.

The Mad Ants took a quick start out of the gate, allowing their offensive dominance to shine on the road as they found themselves up 50-34 at the half. Making his Mad Ants debut, LA Clipper assignee CJ Wilcox made an early game appearance for Fort Wayne, in which he recorded 9 points, as did New Orleans Pelicans assignee Russ Smith, who finished the night with 7 points.

The Knicks, however, would not settle for a run away by Fort Wayne, as they would gradually begin climbing back into the game, eventually tying the game at 94-94 with just under 10 seconds left on the clock. Dahntay Jones would come through with a huge jumper for the Mad Ants with just three seconds left to force Fort Wayne up 96-94. That jumper would make Jones the game’s hero as they squeezed out the victory by a two point margin, creating a four game winning streak for the Mad Ants. Andre Emmett would lead the Mad Ants with 25 points, while Ramon Harris recorded 18. Gary Talton ended his night with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

For the Knicks, Andre Barrett lead his team with 18 points and Darnell Jackson registered 15 points and 6 rebounds.

The Mad Ants will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, January 10th as they complete their east coast trip at Delaware with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. Fans can purchase Mad Ants tickets anytime, which start at just $6, at the Memorial Coliseum Box Office, by visiting www.ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
