News release from the American Red Cross:

Kroger and Scott’s partner with American Red Cross for the 2014 Great Turkey Escape Blood Drive
All donors will be entered into a daily drawing for a $50 gift card and a holiday turkey

(November 20, 2014) — What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday? If you or someone you love has ever needed blood products, perhaps you’re thankful for an adequate blood supply. The American Red Cross relies on the generosity of eligible blood donors to maintain a steady and consistent blood supply for local patients. The need is constant. Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood.

While holiday plans may take many regular blood donors out of town and off of their normal schedule, the Red Cross, Kroger and Scott’s are encouraging infrequent or first-time blood donors to give the gift of life this Thanksgiving.

Kroger and Scott’s will sponsor the Great Turkey Escape Blood Drive at the Red Cross Fort Wayne and Lutheran donor centers, Nov. 24 – 29. Come to donate blood or platelets and be entered to win a $50 Kroger and Scott’s gift card and a certificate for a 7-10 pound turkey. A winner will be drawn each day of the blood drive.
