FWCS Launches New Communication Tool – Let’s Talk!

(November 3, 2014) – Fort Wayne Community Schools is furthering its commitment to open dialogues with the public by launching Let’s Talk!, an online communication software designed to make it simple for people to engage with the district anytime, anywhere.

“Engaging with our parents and the community is one of our key district goals,” Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson said. “Let’s Talk! is the next step — and an important one — to accomplishing this mission. It will allow us to streamline our communications with the public and provide an easy-to-use place for everyone to come with questions and comments.”

Designed and administered by independent technology and communications firm K12 Insight, Let’s Talk! provides a 24/7 outlet for every stakeholder to submit a comment, register a complaint or offer a word of praise. Let’s Talk! is accessible from any device and can be found at the district’s website, www.fortwayneschools.org. Simply click on Contact Us or Let’s Talk!

When a submission is received, Let’s Talk! automatically routes it to the appropriate staff member for follow up. Users may remain anonymous or leave contact information to receive a personal response within three business days, and usually sooner.

Fort Wayne Community Schools is beginning its implementation of Let’s Talk! with links to each central office department. In addition to being able to reach the superintendent’s office, people will be able to make submissions to the Chief Academic, Chief Financial and Chief Operations offices, Community Programs, the elementary, middle and high school area offices, Public Affairs, Security, Special Education, Student & Family Support Services, Title I and Transportation, among others.

Links to each Fort Wayne school will be added to Let’s Talk! in the spring.

“We welcome every voice as we discuss critical education and district issues,” Dr. Robinson said. “We need every community member to partner with us as we work to help our students not only become successful academically, but also become productive, responsible citizens.”
