Time: 4:07 AM

Location: 900 Block Lower Huntington Rd.

Victim: Adult Male / Critical Condition

On Sunday, 10/26/2014, at approximately 4:07 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 900 block of Lower Huntington Road reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the crash involved a single moped.

The driver (sole occupant) of the moped was unconscious and unresponsive upon the officer’s arrival. Paramedics and fire personnel arrived and indicated the victim was in serious condition. The victim was transported by medics to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician.

Preliminary reports indicate the moped was traveling westbound on Lower Huntington Road. It appears the driver of the moped left the roadway and struck the curb on the north side of the road. Upon striking the curb, the driver lost control and struck a mailbox. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
