Dear Friend of the Christmas Bureau:
It will be here sooner than you think – Christmas – that is. It is hard to believe another year has passed. When we think of this season, we think of Christmas Bureau and needy families. Some of you mark your calendars in anticipation of this letter and for that, we are very thankful. The Adopt a Family Committee has already met with the case managers from social service agencies and they are in the process of interviewing families for our program.
Fortunately, because of you, we have always been able to adopt all of the families that have been referred to us over the years. We have also given cash contributions to some local agencies, to be used to take care of special needs within their organizations. We are very grateful to our community members for making dreams come true and are looking forward to helping our less fortunate friends have a wonderful Christmas.
In addition to adopting families, we will be collecting non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, paper products, school supplies and monetary contributions. These items will all be put to good use by our clients and agencies.
Remember, the Christmas Bureau is an all volunteer organization. We are proud of our volunteers and could not operate without you. We hope you are able to join us for the 2014 season.
For your convenience, we enclose an Adopt a Family form, a Volunteer Calendar and a self-addressed envelope. Thank you for your dedication to the Christmas Bureau and our mission to help our neighbors and friends enjoy a wonderful Christmas.
This year we will be located at 328 Ley Road, and will be open the week of December 1st through 5th and December 8th through 10th. When you sign up to adopt, volunteer or drop off goods, we will let you know exactly how to find us. Once again, thank you for taking the time to care.
