That is why in February 2014 we launched another $4.9 million, three-year K-12 education strategy. Kroger associates are involved in and concerned about their children’s education. Our decision to strengthen historical support of education going back more than 100 years is motivated by two priorities; improving the educational opportunities available to our children and building the best possible workforce for our future. We are pleased that one component of our strategy includes scholarships for 24 children of Kroger Central Division associates each year, including Emma. We are very proud of Emma’s academic accomplishments and other achievements and it is our privilege to honor her in this way.”
