Downtown Fort Wayne – Connecting community and culture on our rivers

(August 26, 2014) – You’re invited to join us at the Envision Fort Wayne Center as architecture students Nick Hoch and Hillary Parker present their vision: Downtown Fort Wayne – Connecting Community and Culture on Our Rivers.

  • Thursday, August 28: noon to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, August 29: noon to 2 p.m.

Brief presentation at noon followed by informal Q & A
at the Envision Fort Wayne Center, 916 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne Indiana 46802.

Nick and Hillary are both graduates of Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning and will be pursuing their Master’s Degrees in Architecture at the University of Oregon, with a focus on urban architecture and sustainable urban design. Nick and Hillary interned for the Community Development Planning Department and were tasked with providing their ideas for reconnecting Fort Wayne’s downtown and riverfront.

“Reconnecting to downtown and the three rivers provides the opportunity for people to come together and create an identity as a city,” says Nick, who is a native of Fort Wayne.

If you are are unable to attend either of these sessions, Nick’s and Hillary’s concepts will continue to be on display through October at the Envision Fort Wayne Center during normal business hours.
