Critical Injury Accident, 5600 St. Joe Rd

Location of Incident: 5600 St. Joe Rd.

Victim: Adult Female, Critical Condition

 

On August 27, 2014, at approximately 5:05 PM Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a critical injury accident involving three vehicles at the 5600 block of St. Joe Rd. in front of Pierres. Upon arrival Officers located an adult female who was in serious condition. Medics transported her to a local hospital where she was later down graded to critical condition. The F.A.C.T team was paged to make the scene.

Eye witness accounts stated that a black passenger car was traveling south bound on St. Joe Rd. and made an abrupt left turn crossing north bound lanes and colliding with on-coming traffic. The driver of the black vehicle was an adult female in critical condition. The black car was t-bond by a tan passenger car going north bound when it crossed its path suddenly. A white pick up truck, in an attempt to avoid colliding with the black vehicle swerved into the tan passenger car which hit the black vehicle.

The drivers of the other vehicles were not seriously injured; however, the driver of the tan passenger car had a complaint of pain and requested to go the hospital were he was transported by medics. His condition was good. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles.

At this time it is unclear whether any other mitigating circumstances contributed to the traffic accident.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department F.A.C.T Team, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, and the Coroner’s office.
