Shared Services Center Fort Wayne to Add More than 300 Jobs
Affiliate of Lutheran Health Network to Grow Over Next Two to Three Years

(August 7, 2014) – Shared Services Center Fort Wayne, an affiliate of Lutheran Health Network that serves the business office needs of hospitals, will add more than 300 jobs over the next two to three years to its existing workforce of over 175 employees.

“It’s our honor to provide high quality, compassionate care to the communities we serve throughout northeastern Indiana,” said Brian Bauer, CEO, Lutheran Health Network. “Now, we are pleased to be able to expand our commitment to the region by creating new opportunities for employment.”

Currently, Shared Services Center Fort Wayne has more than 175 employees that provide such services as processing medical insurance claims, billing, appeals, insurance collection and customer service for Lutheran Health Network’s hospitals and others in the region. To accommodate future growth, Shared Services Center Fort Wayne will relocate to 1700 Magnavox Way, owned by MagnaWay, LLC, where it will occupy over 62,000 square feet of leased space.

“By creating great jobs like this in Indiana, Lutheran Health Network is helping to nurse Indiana’s economy to even stronger health,” said Governor Mike Pence. “Indiana is already a life sciences leader. These jobs will continue to lift Indiana’s status as a home base for related industries, such as hospital business services. Hoosiers win when companies, from local shops to Fortune 500 firms, decide that Indiana provides the best environment for their growth, placing success within reach here in a state that works.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Northeast Indiana Works, the City of Fort Wayne, and Allen County have purposed a $6,086,611 million incentives package including a 10-year phase-in tax abatement.

“I continue to be encouraged by the unprecedented momentum we’re experiencing in the City of Fort Wayne as we work together to invest in the future and be a leader in job growth and retention,” said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. “We appreciate the commitment that Lutheran Health Network is demonstrating by significantly expanding its presence in Fort Wayne.”

“This investment will provide high quality jobs for our citizens and opportunities to advance their careers in a developing area of the healthcare industry,” stated Commissioner Nelson Peters. “We are pleased with their investment in Allen County’s workforce.”
