Empowered Sports Club Celebrates Ribbon Cutting
(July 24, 2014) – Empowered Sports Club on 12124 Lima Road had their official ribbon cutting with Greater Fort Wayne on Tuesday. Formerly Pine Ridge Racquet & Fitness Club, Empowered Sports Club is in the same facility but with new ownership. While the management changed hands back in December 2013, the building’s new ownership did not take effect until June 30, 2014. The ribbon cutting marks the business fully operating under its new name.
New owner, William Robbins, a current professional beach and indoor volleyball player, and IPFW Men’s Volleyball Alumni, brings years of business experience from owning and managing multiple fitness and multisport facilities around the area.
“Having successfully grown several fitness and sports facilities beyond capacity, I saw a huge opportunity here to give this area, not only a new multisport facility, but one that focuses on empowering the mind, body, and soul of every athlete,” Robbins said.
The facility changed slightly but now boasts itself to have the area’s only indoor sand courts but is still home to the same features as before. The facility still features tennis courts, although the addition of the sand courts took away a court and a half. However, the facility will run five tennis courts from May until September, and during the time where indoor volleyball is more popular, sport court will be put down over one court to host multiple indoor volleyball programs as well.
“I want this to be a positive safe place for the whole family to enjoy the sport or fitness program of their choice,” Robbins said.
