Citizens’ Academy now accepting application

Allen County Sheriff’s Department Accepting Applications for Citizens’ Academy

(July 1, 2014) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department will be accepting applications for the Citizens Academy class of 2014. The Allen County Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy offers residents the opportunity to have in depth exposure to the real world of law enforcement, along with learning the many division of County Government. Department instructors and staff will give presentations about the many aspects of law enforcement including patrol, criminal investigation, crime scene processing, K-9, SWAT operations, along with touring many of the County buildings. The Academy meets every Wednesday from 5:30pm-9:30pm for 12 weeks.

The Citizen’s Academy is open to all Allen County residents 16 years old and older. Citizens 13-15 years old may attend the Academy if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The next session of the Allen County Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy will be:

August 20 through November 5, 2014
The classes will be held at our new facility located at
5080 Adams Center Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46806.

Applications are required and acceptance will be on a first come first serve basis due to limited class size. Once your application has been received and processed, you will be notified as to your acceptance into the Citizen’s Academy.
