Rotary Centennial Tower
A gift to the Fort Wayne community in honor and celebration of our first 100 years of service
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of our club in 1915, The Rotary Club of Fort Wayne will erect a permanent landmark that memorializes the club’s 100-year record of service to the community and to the world.
The Rotary Centennial Tower will be located on the green next to the Allen County Public Library where it will be seen and experienced by thousands of people every day, all year round.

The Rotary Centennial Tower will:
- Help  revitalize downtown Fort Wayne and our local economy by providing a beautiful, functional, and lasting landmark attraction
- Convey a sense of place, where people can gather, relax, enjoy music, sit and read
- Promote and perpetuate Rotary’s ideal of “service above self”
- Attract local citizens and out of town visitors to the library to encourage lifelong learning
- Symbolize the commitment of the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne to service the surrounding community and around the world
Features of the Rotary Centennial Tower:
- Four backlit clocks featuring the Rotary International logo, visible night and day
- A sculptural globe representing Rotary’s international reach and mirroring the iconic McMillen Globe in the Great Hall of the Main Library
- A digital carillon to chime the hour and play a wide variety of songs including music from around the world
- A portable digital keyboard that can play the electronic bells of the carillon
- A plaque recognizing the Rotary Centennial Tower as the club’s lasting gift to the community, plus a representation of the Four Way Test and Rotary’s ideal of “Service Above Self”
- Recognition of donors whose gifts made the project a reality
The tower will be built and installed by The Verdin Company, a sixth generation manufacturer of bells, clocks, and towers based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
