Death Investigation

Location: 2500 Weisser Park Avenue
Victim: Male/Deceased on Scene (Identity to be Released by Coroner)Details:
Fort Wayne police responded to the 2500 block of Weisser Park Avenue at approximately 7:00 p.m. this evening on multiple reports of shots being fired in that immediate area. Once on scene, officers located an unresponsive male down in a vacant lot between two homes on the east side of Weisser Park Avenue.
The victim of an apparent shooting, medic and fire personnel pronounced the male dead at the scene. Detectives have very little to go on at this time and are canvassing the area looking for anyone that might have witnessed the incident. We are asking for the public’s assistance in helping us determine who might be responsible for this apparent shooting. Information can be given by calling Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).
This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, The Allen County Coroners office and the Allen County Prosecutors office.
