The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society’s NKP 765 steam locomotive returns home this afternoon after pulling a series of Norfolk Southern Railway employee-only excursions the last two weekends.
The excursions ran between Elkhart Indiana and Bryan Ohio last weekend and Calumet City and Argos Indiana this one.
The last update, a few minutes ago on Twitter, put the 765 in Hammond Indiana and she’s heading this way. You can track the progress of the 765 at either Twitter or the FWRHS website.
If you’re going out to see her, remember not to trespass on Norfolk Southern Railway property. Their police are usually out checking whenever the 765 is on the move. Use common sense and don’t put yourself in danger. Remember, trains overlap the rails by a couple of feet on either side.
