Fort Wayne Police to Resume Downtown Beat Patrol

(April 3, 2014) – Starting Monday, April 7th the Fort Wayne Police Department will resume the Monday-Friday two officer downtown beat patrol.

Officers assigned the detail will utilize bikes, T3’s, an ATV as well foot patrols to canvass an area that is bounded by Clay Street to the east, Broadway to the west, Superior to the north, the railroad tracks to the south, Headwaters Park, Lawton Park and the Greenway that surrounds the downtown area.

The officers will patrol from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the ability to adjust their patrol coverage based on need. The detail will conclude at the end of September.
