The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from March 1, 10:00 PM EST until March 3, 01:00 AM EST.

The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

URGENT – WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

…SNOW TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION THIS EVENING…

A PAIR OF LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS WILL MOVE ALONG A SLOW MOVING FRONTAL BOUNDARY TO OUR SOUTH TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. THE FIRST OF THESE SYSTEMS WILL CAUSE SNOW OVERNIGHT AND INTO SUNDAY MORNING ACROSS NORTHERN INDIANA… NORTHWEST OHIO… AND THE ADJACENT COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN MICHIGAN WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF THIS AREA. THE SECOND LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM SHOULD MAINLY IMPACT AREAS SOUTH OF ROUTE 24 WITH AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE SUNDAY AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY EVENING BEFORE TAPERING OFF. STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS ALONG AND SOUTH OF ROUTE 24 WILL RANGE FROM 4 TO 7 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS AND LESSER AMOUNTS AS YOU TRAVEL NORTH.

THERE STILL REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY IN THE EXACT TRACK OF THE SECOND AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WITH SLIGHT FLUCTUATIONS NORTH OR SOUTH HAVING A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON POTENTIAL ACCUMULATIONS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTHERN INDIANA HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 AM EST MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

* SNOW IS EXPECTED DEVELOP THIS EVENING GENERALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF ROUTE 24 AND PERSIST INTO SUNDAY NIGHT.

* ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED THROUGH LATE TONIGHT. AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES IS EXPECTED SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY EVENING. THIS WILL BRING TOTAL SNOWFALL INTO THE 4 TO 7 INCH RANGE WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE IN HEAVIER BANDS OF SNOW.

IMPACTS…

* VISIBILITIES REDUCED TO AROUND ONE QUARTER OF A MILE AT TIMES.

* ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY…INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF SLIDE OFFS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
