Critical Shooting Investigation update

Incident Date: 02/16/2014
Incident Time: 4:31 AM
Incident Location: 1800 Fox Point Trail, and intersection of Lafayette St. and E. Tillman Rd

The investigation so far has revealed that a disturbance occurred at a local bar, involving two rival gangs. The rival gang members chased each other in vehicles to Lafayette St. and E. Tillman Rd., where a shootout ensued. All of the victims are confirmed gang members.

It is too early to determine if this shooting is related to the previous shootings over the past few days. The name of the local bar will be released at a later time, after the investigation is complete. There are no updates on the identities or conditions of the victims at this time. The gang’s names are also not being released at this time.

The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Gang and Violent Crimes Unit is working closely with Robbery/Homicide detectives to establish exactly what happened, and see to it that the proper charges are filed.
