TinCaps Team With Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center
Free Prostate Screenings at Parkview Field on August 6 and 7

(August 5, 2013) – Are you over 40? Then it’s time to start managing your prostate health. The TinCaps and the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center are teaming up to give you a great opportunity: a FREE PSA screening at Parkview Field on August 6 and 7.

Other screenings include: blood pressure check, glucose check, height, weight, bone density, body fat composition and strength testing. The DaVinci Robot will be on display as well as the opportunity for you to meet the Parkview Physicians Group urologists and other physicians who use the DaVinci Robot in their practice.

“While we focus much of our energy on entertaining fans at ballgames, we’re also proud to be active members of our community,” TinCaps Vice President of Marketing Michael Limmer said. “These screenings are potentially life-saving so we’re more than glad to be able to host this free and important service to our fans and local community members.”

Date: Tuesday, August 6

All testing is held in the Lincoln Conference Center at Parkview Field.

The PSA screening measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood. Elevated levels can indicate prostate cancer or other serious health issues. The test requires only a quick blood draw, which will be administered by a Parkview Health Laboratories phlebotomist. Confidential results will be sent to you.

Time slots are limited; while walk-ins may be accepted, reservations are highly recommended. Reserve your time slot by calling (260) 266-9180.

Don’t miss this opportunity! Bring along your son, father, brother or buddy. This is a community event and is open to everyone.

The TinCaps will wear special blue jerseys during their game against the Lansing Lugnuts on Tuesday night to show their support for finding a cure to prostate cancer. After the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds donated to the Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
