News release from INDOT:
Nighttime Rolling Slowdowns on I-69 near Mile 345 Are Scheduled to Begin Wednesday, July 17
Slowdowns due to removal of bridge deck on the CR 325 bridge over I-69
STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces rolling slowdowns of traffic on northbound and southbound I-69 will take place during nighttime hours this week and next week, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., beginning Wednesday night, July 17, near mile 345. The slowdowns are to accommodate the removal of the deck from the CR 325 bridge over I-69 at this location. There also will be traffic slowdowns on Thursday night, July 18, Monday night, July 22, and Tuesday night, July 23. The bridge deck removal is expected to be complete by Wednesday morning, July 24, at 6 a.m.
During these slowdown periods, I-69 traffic will be intermittently slowed to 10 mph as portions of the deck are removed from the CR 325 bridge. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department and/or Indiana State Police will assist with the rolling slowdowns, which may last up to 20 minutes each.
Motorists may wish to select alternate routes and/or plan accordingly for possible traffic delays on I-69 on these nights.
The CR 325 bridge work includes bridge deck replacement and widening. The road has been closed since June 3; the detour follows CR 500S to CR 400W to S. Golden Lake Road. The road is expected to reopen by early November.
