Kroger Zoo Day 2013 Fund-raising, Daily Update
Bugara the tiger remains on top; total to date = $10,788
(May 15, 2013) – Each weekday Kroger will provide a daily update on the competitive fund-raising campaign to benefit the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, “Kroger Zoo Day 2013.” Kroger and Scott’s banner stores in Northeastern Indiana will celebrate “Zoo Day” on Wednesday, May 15th, but fund-raising runs until Saturday, May 18th in 15 Kroger and Scott’s banner stores in the region.
Kroger customers may contribute to the zoo in scan increments of $1, although there is no limit to the amount Kroger associates and customers can donate. In exchange for a donation, customers may “vote” for “incumbent” Jelani the giraffe, Bugara the tiger or Fishbone the sea lion and hang up a scan icon for that zoo animal at that store.
Fund-raising “votes” for Bugara the tiger so far = $4,099. Bluffton mayor Ted Ellis has been named campaign chair for Bugara the tiger.
Fund-raising “votes” for Jelani the giraffe so far = $3,607. Fort Wayne mayor Tom Henry has been named campaign chair for the incumbent, Jelani the giraffe.
Fund-raising “votes” for Fishbone the sea lion so far = $3,082. Kendallville mayor Suzanne Handshoe has been named campaign chair for Fishbone the sea lion.
