Mad Ants Outlast Legends

(March 31, 2013) – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants ended their regular season home schedule in impressive fashion by beating the Texas Legends 109-85 on Easter Sunday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The Mad Ants had five players in double figures and every player scored for the victorious home team.

The Mad Ants charged out of the gate fast and built a double digit 20-8 lead off of an Anthony Richardson three pointer with 5:27 left in the first quarter. The Mad Ants would not relinquish a double-digit lead the rest of the game. Fort Wayne was incredibly efficient on offense all night long, and it resulted in them shooting 55.1% from the field. Almost as good was their defense, as the Mad Ants held Texas to just 38.8% shooting. Fort Wayne built their lead to as high as 26 points in the fourth quarter and ultimately settled for a 109-85 victory.

Reserves Fred House and Solomon Bozeman led the Legends with 16 points each, Sean Singletary added 15, and Melvin Ely chipped with 14.

Anthony Richardson and Chris Porter led the Ants with 17 a piece, Tony Mitchell scored 16, Brandon Wallace scored 15, and Anthony Harris scored 13 points and dished out 8 assists in the win.
