Meeting health professionals and learning about medical and health issues in a fun and friendly environment will be the focus of the 18th Annual Doctors’ Day at Science Central on Saturday, March 2, 2013.

Presented by The Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance, in sponsorship with the Fort Wayne Medical Society Foundation, Lutheran Health Network and Parkview Health, the event runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with free admission to Science Central offered between 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Doctors’ Day offers a variety of hands-on exhibits, displays, and special activities, including raffles and giveaways.

Activities will tentatively include the landing and display of the Lutheran Air and Parkview Samaritan helicopters (weather permitting); the chance to explore emergency medical vehicles; presentations by health professionals on career options and training; and hands-on activities including a teddy bear first aid station and making a removable finger cast.

“The Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance is proud to present this event again in 2013,” said Maria Krach, event chairperson. “This is such a wonderful opportunity for the community to interact with medical professionals in a relaxed and fun way. We hope everyone marks their calendar, and takes advantage of free admission to Science Central for Doctors’ Day 2013.” More information on the event and scheduled activities will be provided as it becomes available.
