…A PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET EXPECTED IN THE AREA SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND SUNDAY NIGHT…

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHEAST FROM COLORADO SUNDAY MORNING TO WISCONSIN MONDAY MORNING. THE WARM FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW WILL MOVE ACROSS OUR AREA SUNDAY NIGHT. AS THE WARM FRONT APPROACHES… A PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET ARE EXPECTED. SURFACE TEMPERATURES SHOULD RISE ABOVE FREEZING ACROSS THE AREA BY MONDAY MORNING. TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL LIKELY DETERIORATE QUICKLY ONCE THE SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN BEGIN…BUT THEN SLOWLY IMPROVE WHEN THE TEMPERATURE RISES ABOVE FREEZING.

* A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA STARTING LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND PERSIST UNTIL THE
TEMPERATURE RISES ABOVE FREEZING BY LATE EVENING.

* LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH ARE EXPECTED.

* THE MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES INCLUDING ICY ROADS.

* ICY WALKWAYS AND DRIVEWAYS WILL BE A FALLING HAZARD.
