…WINTER Storm late Tuesday night and Wednesday…

A storm system will track across the southern plains Tuesday afternoon and will intensify as it moves northeast into the Ohio River Valley Wednesday. Snow is expected to expand northward across northern Indiana and northwest Ohio late Tuesday night…and then overspread south central lower Michigan early Wednesday morning. The snow is expected to become moderate to heavy at times on Wednesday before diminishing in intensity toward Wednesday evening. In addition to the snow…North winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph with some gusts around 35 mph resulting In some blowing and drifting snow.

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a Winter Storm Watch…which is in effect from late Tuesday night through late Wednesday night.

Hazardous weather…

* snow will overspread the area late tuesday night into early Wednesday morning…becoming moderate to heavy at times on Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are possible by late Wednesday evening with locally higher amounts possible. In addition…North winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph early Wednesday…with gusts to 30 to 35 mph through Wednesday afternoon.

* the combination of snow and gusty north winds may also result in areas of blowing and drifting snow…along with reduced visibilities at times.

* snow and blowing snow resulting hazardous travel conditions.
