Fatal Injury Traffic Crash

Date/Time of Incident: November 4, 2012 / 3:17 a.m.

Location of Incident: North Clinton at Grove

Victim: Adult Male

Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of North Clinton Street and Grove Street in reference to a person struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department located an adult male victim lying on North Clinton Street. This subject was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported that a Jeep was southbound on North Clinton, when the driver of the Jeep and the front seat passenger were involved in an argument. The front seat passenger got out of the moving vehicle and landed on North Clinton Street. A driver in an Impala was a short distance behind the Jeep when the front seat passenger exited the car. The Impala then struck this subject. The driver of the Impala immediately stopped and remained on scene.

Alcohol is not a factor in this crash as it pertains to the driver of the Impala. The driver of the Impala was not reported to have been physically injured as a result of this crash.

This incident remains under investigation by members of the Fort Wayne Police Department FACT Team.
