News release from the Black Pine Animal Sanctuary:

Lions & Tigers & Hot Rods!

Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in Albion will host the 2nd annual benefit car, truck, and motorcycle show on Saturday, August 18, 2012. All proceeds will benefit more than 80 rescued and retired exotic animals living at the refuge for the REST of their lives.

Lots of great show prizes will be awarded to participants, leaving no one empty-handed! Lions, Tigers and Hot Rods will take place on the 4-H Park grounds adjacent to Black Pine at 1426 W. 300 N., just 1.5 miles west of the stoplight in Albion.

Spend the day enjoying a variety of prized cars, trucks, “rat cars”, and bikes, refreshments, music, and more! Participants in the show can ride the free shuttle wagon on up the hill to Black Pine Animal Sanctuary to enjoy discounted sanctuary tours and meet the monkeys, birds, reptiles, bears, big cats, and other animal residents. See first-hand where society’s captive-raised ‘outcasts’ have found permanent refuge in the wooded sanctuary of Black Pine.

Admission for spectators to the car show is free! Car show participation is just $10 if registration is postmarked by August 1, and $12 after August 1, including from 9 a.m. to 12 noon the day of show. Registration forms are available online at www.blackpine.org or may be requested by phone at 260-636-7383. The event will take place rain or shine.

Visitors are welcomed at the car show from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to participants at around 3:00 p.m. Black
Pine’s gates will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
