Your Vaccination Coverage May Have Changed
Super Shot Clears the Confusion
(June 4, 2012) – Super Shot announces important program information that may alter coverage for some program participants. State vaccination guidelines changed, effective March 1, 2012. Some insurance companies are changing their coverage as well. Super Shot urges parents and guardians of program participants to clarify current vaccination coverage by calling customer service at their insurance company.
For almost 20 years, Super Shot has remained committed to our community?s families and children, even through healthcare changes and economic turmoil. It has been steadfast in its mission to educate the public on the importance of immunization and provide much needed
vaccination coverage to underinsured and low-income families.Who can NOW receive vaccinations through Super Shot?
Any child from birth through age 18 who:

[li]Is enrolled in Medicaid/Hoosier Healthwise.[/li]
[li]Does NOT have health insurance.[/li]
[li]Has insurance, but the insurance does not cover the cost of any vaccines.[/li]
[li]Has insurance but caps vaccine coverage at a certain amount. Once you have reached your insurance vaccine coverage cap, you can come to Super Shot for the remainder of your vaccines.[/li]
[li]Has insurance that only covers selected vaccines. Any vaccines excluded from your Insurance coverage can be obtained at Super Shot.[/li]
[/list]Postcards outlining these changes have been sent out to 20,000 families in the Super Shot database, family and pediatric physician groups, schools and all Super Shot community partners.

Super Shot—a non-profit, non-governmental program—operates an independent reduced cost immunization program ($8 per shot, though no one is turned away for inability to pay; Medicaid accepted) that serves children in Allen and surrounding counties with family friendly hours and convenient locations.
