FWDC presents the 2012 June Family Concert: The Boy Who Wanted to Count
The Fort Wayne Dance Collective is proud to present our annual June Family Concert titled, The Boy Who Wanted to Count, an original story-dance performance story written and directed by Artistic Director, Liz Monnier. This performance will feature 150 dancers consisting of students from the Winter/Spring 2012 classes, as well as the fabulous dancers from Bi-County Services of Bluffton. Performance ages range from 3 year old Creative Movement students, to adult dancers.

The story revolves around 13 year old Casey who loves numbers. Early on, he shares his favorite numbers: Three, Zero and Seven but realizes some interesting contrasts with the number One. If he was number One would he fit in or would he just continue to be lonely? Casey experiences a range of emotions throughout the story as he dances with stars, fireflies, mad scientists, and trees and ends up alone trapped in a cave. Casey learns a valuable lesson about the world in The Boy Who Wanted to Count. The role of Casey is danced by Erik Osterkil, son of Susan Penrod and Al Osterkil.
